PHILOSOPHY OF THE SCHOOL

 Dancing incorporates a vast variety of styles and techniques………….. Our school specializes in CLASSICAL BALLET……….. (based on the International Cecchetti Method syllabi) as well as MODERN DANCE (The very latest Jazz / Funk / Hip-Hop styles from the U.S.A. and Contemporary Techniques as taught in the Tertiary Dance Courses around Australia. We also teach FLAMENCO, which greatly enhances one’s rhythm, posture and style, as well as TAP DANCING for children.

The studio is a friendly centre where children, teenagers and adults can be educated in any of the above dance forms. We aim to help all students attain better posture and co-ordination, better flexibility and musical appreciation, as well as encouraging self discipline and artistic skills involving drama, presentation, mime and general stage craft.

As well as endeavouring to foster a love and understanding of dance and theatre in ALL students, we will recognize and nurture the gifted students to a level from which they can audition for full-time institutions such as the Australian Ballet School or other Tertiary Dance Courses.

However, we realise that the majority of students have neither the desire or ability to make dancing a career, but just wish to attend once or twice a week for enjoyment abd self improvement. We are aware that these students are very important also – as they are the audiences of the future.

 To summarise, each and every student attending this school is given the best possible training, either personally, or by my caring and qualified staff, in the dance style of their choice. They are encouraged to develop the highest degree of technical skill that they can, as well as a love and appreciation of music and dance in a friendly, non-threatening environment……..
